Walk Description
This walk is steep in parts but thoroughly rewarding, our 7 year old described the amazing views as ‘awesome’- he couldn’t put his camera down! The walk begins and ends in the delightful village of Grasmere with a leisurely stroll along the Easedale valley. The ascent and descent of Helm Crag are steep but take your time to enjoy the views. They get better as you climb and are breathtaking as you reach the summit, with a magnificent 360 degree vista. We spent 1 hour during our walk of 3 hours simply taking in the views - enhanced by the evening sunshine. On completing the walk there are not many better places than Grasmere to enjoy some well earned refreshment with numerous bars, cafes and tearooms to round off a truly fantastic day.
