Walk Description
Wonderful scenery and a tranquil location, a great place for a picnic or just to escape to! A short climb at the start of a delightful, easy, circular walk around Loughrigg Tarn. The route provides for a short detour to give amazing views of the Langdale Pikes and Elterwater; then heads down the valley to the Skelwith Force waterfall and along the river Brathay to return to the car park. There is opportunity for refreshment at Chester’s Cafe near Kirkstone Galleries or the Talbot Bar at Skelwith Bridge. Our family had to be prised away from the cafe!
