- Stunning views with a well earned pint at the end Review by Trudy W

Price Value Quality Parked easily in the hotel as per the map, but suggest an early start as it gets very busy. The village stores do lovely cakes ideal to take on your walk.
The first part of the walk climbed steeply , the kids loved the cave and the views were breathtaking.
The climb down to Silver Bay was hard going, so suggest proper boots . The bay was worth the effort, only accessed by walkers or small boats, it was an ideal venue for lunch.
The route back from the bay was interesting, but soon we were back on the main track and the remaining part of the the walk was fairly easy.
The ice cream at Side Farm allowed for a short break and then just a short walk back to the pub. We sat at the Patterdale Hotel as the views were stunning , the beer cold and the garden was in the sun.
Took us just short of 3 1/2 hours with stops and lunch, so allow slightly longer if you are want to take in the scenery.
Highly recommended walk , easy to follow and very enjoyable.(Posted on 25/04/2011)
