- Steep at first, but the views are worth the effort Review by Trudy W

Price Value Quality It was further down the road than we thought from Skelwith Bridge , but keep going and soon you are greated with stunning views.
The carpark gets busy early, but if you enquire at the hotel you can use their carpark for £3.00 per day.
The initial walk up the hill was very steep, take your time and stop to take in the views.
The walk around the Tarn was easy to follow, the trees were a welcome break on the day we walked, from the hot sun. Take breaks in the woods and then again on the bench just after the woods for views you will never forget. I would suggest maybe a quick sketch map on the walk so you can identify the various peaks around the walk.
We took the road back which was easier and slightly more shaded.
The pub again was a welcome site, a plate of their homemade chips and a pint enjoyed by all.(Posted on 25/04/2011)

Price Value Quality Idyllic! Magnificent views on the way up to and back from the tarn. At first view the tarn looks tiny...but by step 7 of the walk you will be lapping up one of the most tranquil views in the Lakes. Theaksons XB at the pub was a Brucey Bonus!
