Walk Description
A delightful, flat, linear walk, with many lovely views along the way. The waterside trail follows the Great Langdale Beck, the Elterwater shoreline and the River Brathay, The walk can be started either at Elterwater or alternatively from the Silverthwaite car park on the B5343. There’s plenty of opportunity for kids to roam and explore, though they should be closely supervised by Skelwith Force Waterfall as the rocks are slippery. Refreshments available at Elterwater’s Britannia Inn, Chester’s Cafe near Kirkstone Galleries or the Talbot Bar at Skelwith Bridge. The family had to be prised away from the cafe, the Britannia Inn was more to my taste!
