Walk Description
A hidden gem just a short walk from Windermere town centre. The view from Orrest Head provided the inspiration for Alfred Wainwright and his pictorial guides. The beauty of the fells and lakes handsomely rewards a gentle uphill stroll ascending 400 feet (120m). Relax and enjoy the panoramic vista of the highest Lakeland fells, the Pennines, Morecambe Bay and Lake Windermere. Take some time to study the summit’s view indicator - my kids enjoyed putting names to the fells.
