Walk Description
A really great day out! Enjoy the fantastic scenery along the North York Moors Railway. The walk is linear, great for the kids to roam, and is made more enjoyable by starting the day at Pickering railway station. Step back in time and take the steam train from Pickering to Goathland – ‘Aidensfield’ in the TV series ‘Heartbeat’’. Walk from Goathland station to Grosmont station along the rail trail. Then return by train from Grosmont to Pickering. There’s opportunity for refreshment in Pickering, Goathland and Grosmont and, with a slight detour, a pub along the walk. We have done this journey several times and the kids always enjoy it.
