Walk Description
An easy, circular walk around the reservoir in fantastic countryside at the heart of the Pennines. A short steep climb at the start, the route avoids overgrown paths and boggy areas and is well rewarded with breathtaking views. The return, along a waterside path is also very pleasurable. The end of the walk provides opportunity for a picnic near the car park with a short stroll to the waters edge, alternatively refreshment can be found in numerous pubs along the A640. The kids also enjoyed a worthwhile extension to the walk to visit the dam head of the Deanhead Reservoir just above Scammonden.
