Walk Description
A delightful stroll along this section of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal is no ordinary canal walk and it is good all year round. The open countryside setting provides a great place to relax and unwind. The succession of locks provided additional interest for the kids, particularly watching the locks fill and the narrowboats descending. We start our walk with a picnic at the Rotcher picnic site. You can also take refreshment along the walk with a slight detour to the Olive Branch pub, or afterwards, at the pubs and cafes or the floating ‘Moonraker’ tearoom in Slaithwaite.
