Privacy Policy

Walking Families are committed to protecting your privacy during your visits to our website and recognise our responsibility to hold your information securely and confidentially.

You may view the Walking Families website without entering any personal information. If you wish to download a walk or send us an E-mail we require your name and email address to enable us to reply or process your order confirmation.

We will not give, loan or sell information you provide to any third parties (unless required by law to do so). We will not hold or store your personal details any longer than required for the purpose for which it was collected.

Your order request, Invitation to treat

Walking Families aim to ensure that all prices and content are displayed correctly. It is possible, however, that we may include an incorrect price or description error. The prices and information displayed on the website are “An invitation to treat” only. If a walk has been wrongly priced or incorrectly described in any way we reserve the right to refuse the customer request to purchase. In such an event, we will contact the customer and request that they place a new order at the correct price. Any payments received by ourselves or by our payment service provider for incorrectly displayed services will be refunded in full.


Cookies are small text files placed on a customer computer and are commonly used on the internet.

Walking Families uses cookies to:

  • collect anonymous information that will help us understand visitors’ browsing habits on our website;
  • compile statistical reports on website activity, e.g. number of visitors and the pages they visit;
  • temporarily store any information which customers may enter on our website;
  • in some instances, remember information about customers when they visit our site.

Walking Families does not use cookies to:

  • track customers use of the internet after they leave our site, furthermore, Walking Families does not store any personal information in them that others could read and understand.

Walking Families uses two types of cookie:

Session cookies - these are temporary and are deleted as soon as a customer closes their browser.

Persistent cookies - these are stored on the customer’s computer until they expire or the customer removes them.

Persistent cookies store the customers personal preferences such as language preferences on multi-lingual sites to make subsequent visits easier. They also remember questions we may have asked a customer previously, for example a request to complete an online survey. A persistent cookie will prevent a customer from being asked to complete the same survey every time they visit the website.

Third party cookies

Walking Families works with third parties who, on our behalf, research the use of our website and activities on it. In doing so they may place a cookie on a customer’s computer, however, it would not contain any personal information that others could read and understand.

We also work with third parties to evaluate the effectiveness of our advertising and promotions on third party websites. Again, the cookie would not contain any personal information that others could read and understand.

Accepting or rejecting cookies

A customer can configure their internet browser to warn them each time a new cookie is about to be stored on their computer so that they may make a decision whether to accept or reject it.

Customers should refer to their internet browser’s help section for specific instructions.
